Using Templates

This is a straightforward tutorial on one of the many ways of using templates downloaded online from various graphic sites.

Step 1: First, simply find the template you will be using. I'll be using this one.

Step 2: Hold ctrl and click on the background layer. You should now see a marquee around the area the layer takes up, and this area will be where your picture will be visible. If this doesn't satisfy you, you can always select the areas you want manually by selecting the magic wand tool and holding down the Shift key while selecting the desired areas.

Step 3: Keeping this window open, open the image you will be using the template on. Back in your template window, hold your mouse above the selected area. Then, press and drag the selection from the template window to the image window.

Step 4: Once you've selected the desired area, copy it by pressing Ctrl+c. Then, go back to the template window and paste it by pressing Ctrl+v. Your image should now be inside the template. Great work! =D

Step 5: Last step: saving. Go to File --> Save for Web. Make sure your image is saved in either GIF or PNG format and then click Save. Congratulations! You have now efficiently used a template. Enjoy! =D
